I was in the UK during World cup 1998 France and 2002 Japan-South Korea. French won the cup at their home ground in 1998 while Brazilian claimed their world championship title in Japan.Both teams are still gonna play this year and some of their veterans like Zinedine Zidane (pic below) was reportedly saying that that will be his final world cup appearance after having decided to retire as a football pro by the end of 2007. He and his teammates defeated Brazil in 1998 and became his nation's hero scoring 2 out of 3 winning goals.

For all the football fans out there, this will be the ultimate football match: surprises, upsets, newcomers, underdogs, old enemies, bad bias referees, potential rivals, tears, joy, and whatever else emotions/football jargons may exists, just be prepared for it and please do not cause any havoc, chaos and so on. Stop this hooliganism if you may. This is not the end of the world. Nevertheless, people will naturally remember the champion. There is no number 2 in this game or any other sport game. However,having said that, people will also remember some of the main highlights such as when the underdog North Korea beat Italy 1-0 back in World Cup 1966 in England as well as Diego Maradona's Hand of God, all of which became part of the world cup history.
In malaysia, this time of the year, people will have to stay up late at night just to catch the live match, as we are 6 hours ahead in the time zone. As for myself, maybe i'll just settle for the weekend live match.
